| Being in a choir is a great experience: you become part of team creating a wonderful sound! Not only that,
singing releases stress and improves wellbeing so a weekly choir rehearsal is a great way to put aside the
pressures of modern life for a while and recharge the batteries. Performing in concerts is also a valuable and
satisfying experience.
To join Box Hill Chorale, you do not need to have previous musical training or experience, although being able
to read music is an advantage. The desire to create music of a high standard, however, is probably the most
important aspect of being a chorale member. Membership is open to people of all ages and to residents of the
City of Whitehorse as well as the wider community.
If you are interested in joining Box Hill Chorale, please come along to one of our rehearsals and see if you
like it.
Rehearsals
Are held on most Monday evenings (not public holidays) from 7.30pm to 10.00pm in the main
auditorium (ÂThe ArbourÂ) of the Box Hill Community Arts Centre, corner of Station & Combarton Streets,
Box Hill.

To ensure that the Chorale will actually be at the Arts Centre on a particular night, please check the Chorale Calendar, where you will
find a list of the Chorale's upcoming plans.
When you arrive at the Arts Centre, you will be greeted inside by our Membership
Secretary, who ensures that a roll is kept of all people attending the
rehearsal. They will answer any questions you may have about the Chorale and
find a spot for you to sit and join in the singing. You can contact the
Membership Secretary by email.
If, after attending a few rehearsals, you would like to join Box Hill Chorale, then we ask that you pay the annual
fee of (currently) $150. A pro rata rate is available for new members joining part way through the year.
